4 DOLLARS A MINUTE

I learn something new in school everyday.

Here's a good one:
It costs about $4 a minute to sit in a cold, hard, uncomfortable plastic chair here in this University, listen to them drone on and on about their field of interest, and look fascinated with the projections on the whiteboards.
That's about $200 for a 50-minute class. Excluding room and board.

Mind-blowing.
Maybe we should all take 7 modules back in NUS next semester to reduce per minute cost. This way, when we don't go to class because we don't feel like it, we don't waste too much money away.
Financing tertiary education is no joke.

It's my fourth month into the journey here,
but I feel I've just begun to settle in.
Sounds cliche, hehh i know.

But you know.. it's time to go home soon:

• when you get overexcited seeing the fuits vendor cut up a papaya.
• when you fork out RM11.40 to buy like 10 pieces of papaya.
• when RM11.40 can buy you 4 whole large papayas back home.

No more whining about the lack of fruit choices in hall!
